City’s Public & Media Relations Department earns statewide awards

The city of Garland’s award-winning Public & Media Relations Department has added more trophies to its display case. Garland earned the following awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO):

  • Fliers and Posters – Award of Excellence for Garland’s Dia de los Muertos promotional poster and artwork
  • Electronic Newsletter – Award of Excellence for Street Talk monthly enewsletter
  • Video, Recurring Program – Award of Excellence for Street Talk video series
  • Marketing Plan or Campaign – Award of Honor for A Garland Christmas at Firewheel

The TAMI Award judges lauded Garland’s team for their ability to create compelling communications product that are easy to understand and produced with top-notch professionalism.

TAMIO hosts this annual awards program each year as part of its mission to advance and promote the active cooperation and exchange of information and ideas among Texas cities; to promote the proficiency of public information and communication managers; to render whatever public relations assistance possible to any municipality or organization; and to promote recognition outside the organization for achievement in the area of communicating with the public.
