From Monday, May 20, through Sunday, June 2, the Garland Police Department joined the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety by stepping up enforcement for seatbelt and child safety seat violations during the Click It or Ticket Campaign.
The additional Click It or Ticket enforcement resulted in the following:
• 162 total traffic stops
• 43 Seat Belt Violations
• 2 Child Safety Seat Citations
• 8 Red Light Violations
• 32 Speeding Violations
• 69 Warnings
• 140 Other Violations
• 1 Arrest
Click It or Ticket enforcement is an effort to remind Texans to buckle up every time they get in a vehicle. Buckling up not only protects motorists against expensive citations, but it also saves lives.
Statistics continue to show that when vehicle passengers are properly seat belted, injuries are less severe and death less likely during a vehicle crash.
