The new Surf & Swim Aquatics Facility construction is expected to start this summer. It will be adjacent to the Audubon Recreation Center at 342 West Oates Road.
The new facility (rendering shown here) will have a winding lazy river, a tranquil leisure pool, an aquatic playground, a dedicated children’s pool, three new waterslides and shade structures. The revitalized Surf & Swim will also include a party room for celebrating birthdays and other special events, and a concession stand. The existing Surf & Swim facility, built in 1984, will be demolished.
While waiting for this incredible facility to be completed, it’s important to know the other places in Garland that are open and ready to provide you with a fun space to enjoy the water and stay cool … like the splash pads at Wynne, Embree and Watson parks. There is also a brand-new water feature on the Square in downtown Garland.
