Newly elected representatives for Garland City Council Districts 2, 4 and 5 have taken their oath of office. The council canvassed the results of the city’s general election at its Nov. 17 meeting.
District 2 incumbent Deborah Morris and District 5 incumbent Rich Aubin both returned to the City Council. District 4 representative B.J. Williams has also returned after a one-term absence.
District 1 representative David Gibbons resigned to serve the city in another capacity and bid farewell during the meeting.
“It has been my distinct honor to serve the citizens of Garland and particularly the residents of District 1,” said Gibbons. “I am continually humbled by the support that I received during my term on Council. It is a period of time that I will cherish forever. And I thank you.”
