It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dad, Dale S. Hanks. He was 82. His health had been declining over the last couple of years but grew increasingly worse over the last two months. He passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday evening, Nov. 18, 2020.
He was born Dale Shepherd Hanks Oct. 9, 1938, in Palestine,Texas, to Morris and Verna Hanks.
He is preceded in death by my mother Sara Lee Hanks (2005) his parents Morris S. Hanks (1983) Verna H. Hanks (1976) and younger brother Michael F. Hanks (1996)
He is survived and mourned by his wife Jessica Acosta of Garland; sons Jimmy Dale and Jerry Lee of Garland and older brother Donald H. Hanks of Waco; two grandchildren; Scotty Hanks of Sulphur Springs and Mikayla Hanks of Garland; and two great-grandchildren; Addisyn and Sara Lee both of Sulphur Springs.
Services and internment will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home located at 1600 South Garland Avenue in Garland. (972) 276-5000.
