Update: The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Frances Denise Easley of Garland. Her cause of death has not been determined at this time. The victim’s family has been notified. The investigation is still ongoing.
On Jan. 1, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Garland police officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 1600 Block of West Walnut Street. When the officers arrived, they located a white female, approximately late 40s, who was deceased under the West Walnut bridge near Brookside Drive.
GPD detectives responded and are conducting a death investigation. Several witnesses advised they observed the female standing on West Walnut and looking over the bridge at approximately 1:45 a.m. Detectives are still trying to determine the cause of death.
The police department is asking for the public to share any information that could assist with the investigation. This is an ongoing investigation.
