There are lots of great things currently going on at Heritage Crossing and many more planned for the rest of the year. Check out the information below for activity ideas.

Garland Railroads Exhibit – Now – March 2022

The Garland Landmark Museum’s current exhibit is all about Garland trains. Visitors will enjoy learning about the city’s early history as well as how the development of the railroad lines affected that history. An informative timeline, illustrated with amazing photographs, describes the role the railroads played. The exhibit covers the time span from the beginning of the railroad in Garland to the 1950s when passenger service was discontinued by most railroad companies. Then it continues up to the present with the role of the DART Rail in downtown Garland. Spend some time at the museum and learn how the railroad transformed Garland from a small agricultural village into one of the largest cities in Texas.

The Garland Landmark Museum is located at 393 North Sixth Street and is open every Thursday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.heritage

Hidden Garland is a scavenger hunt through downtown Garland in which people find hidden clues to our city’s history. Through the month of June, download the VisitGarland,TX app and follow the tour clues to gather eight images. At the end, get a special prize when you turn in those photos at the Garland Landmark Museum or the Visit Garland office at 211 North Fifth Street. If you’d prefer a printed copy of the clues over using the app, stop by the museum or Visit Garland office.
