Everyone knows that Garland is the Hat Capitol of Texas, but did you know that includes more than cowboy hats? Dorfman Milano Hats manufactures many types of hats, including the hats worn by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Recently, RCMP Cpl. Marie-Michele Ouiment and other Canadian officials toured the Dorfman Milano factory on Highway 66 in Garland. The visitors were hosted by Mayor Scott LeMay and Dorfman Milano’s Senior Vice President Frank Kinney.
After the tour, LeMay led the visiting officials to downtown Garland for a barbecue lunch at Intrinsic Smokehouse and Brewery.
Cpl. Ouimet visited Austin and Dallas for a series of security meetings and to profile the strong United States-Canada Defense Partnership. Also joining the Garland tour were representatives of the Dallas office of the Consulate General of Canada along with a member of the United States Marshal’s Service.
