The 2023 mayoral, city council and Garland ISD board of trustees elections are over and the unofficial results are below. Election Day was May 6.
Garland ISD board of trustees places 4 and 5 were decided. In place 4, Daphne Stanley defeated Jed Reed. In place 5, Jamie Miller defeated Kristina Sterling.
Scott LeMay defeated Roel G. Garcia to win a third term as the city of Garland’s mayor. He said that he is “humbled and honored by the support he received during the election.”
“My first priority continues to be the implementation of our 2019 bond package. These projects are bringing long overdue enhancements to amenities and infrastructure,” he said. “My second priority is to figure out what’s next for Garland and where we ‘grow’ from here.”
LeMay added that there are some great possibilities on the horizon.
City Council districts 3, 6, 7 and 8 were also decided.
Ed Moore defeated PC Matthew for the district 3 seat. The district 6 seat will be filled by Carissa Dutton, who ran unopposed. Dylan Hedrick ran unopposed in district 7 and Chris Ott ran unopposed for the district 8 seat.
