Beth Dattomo and Louis Moore, both Garland Downtown Business Association board members, created a fall harvest photo op for downtown Garland visitors. The arrangement of hay bales, chrysanthemums and pumpkins is a great spot to take selfies with family and friends or get fall photos of the kids. The harvest arrangement is located at the southwest corner of State and Fifth Streets.
During your downtown visit, please don’t forget to stop in at one of the restaurants for a bite to eat and browse in the unique gift shops.
The Garland Downtown Business Association exists as a nonprofit corporation to promote, revitalize and increase the business activity and foot traffic in the downtown area and the city of Garland as well as to provide assistance to its members.
Membership is open to anyone who has ownership in a business or property or holds office on the board of a nonprofit organization, other than the GDBA, located within the association boundaries. Those boundaries are Walnut Street on the north, Avenue D on the south, First Street on the east and Garland Avenue on the west.
Others who live or work outside of the association’s geographical boundaries may join as “supporting members.” Only members will be allowed to vote, but supporting members may participate in other association activities.
Membership meetings are held quarterly, in March, June, September and December. The December meeting is the association’s Christmas party. Feel free to attend the party and celebrate the holidays. Officers are also elected at the December meeting.
If you would like to attend the party, please send an email to garlandtexan@gmail.com and your name will be added to the GDBA email list. You will receive a newsletter at the beginning of November which will include dates and locations for upcoming events, including the party.
