Fatburger opens to large crowd

Oct. 23, 2022

Hollywood’s favorite burger, Fatburger, and its sister brand, Buffalo’s Express officially opened to a happy crowd last week in Garland. The new co-branded location provides guests with a one-stop dining experience for custom, grilled-to-perfection burgers and fresh, never frozen chicken wings bursting with flavor.

The restaurant hosted a grand opening celebration Thursday, Oct. 20. The event began with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. Then, starting at 11 a.m. the first 100 customers were the lucky recipients of a free, Original Fatburger. This promotion drew a large crowd, but for those who couldn’t be there to enjoy a free burger, the restaurant also treated customers with a free order of fries with additional purchase for the rest of the day. fatburger

Fatburger opened in Los Angeles 70 years ago, and since then, the popular chain has been known for its delicious, grilled-to-perfection and cooked to order burgers.

Founder Lovie Yancey believed that a big burger with everything on it is a meal in itself. At Fatburger “everything” is not just the usual roster of toppings. From the Buffalo’s Express menu, patrons can choose bone-in or boneless wings accompanied by a range of homemade sauces.

The promise of great-tasting food awaits your arrival at Fatburger! Hours of operation are Sunday – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The restaurant is located at 365 Coneflower Drive at Firewheel Town Center.fatburger

The Fatburger Story

Lovie Yancey was an entrepreneur from the start. In 1947, she built a three-stool hamburger stand using scrap materials from her partner’s construction business. They called it Mr. Fatburger. However, in 1952, they split. Ever persistent, she shed the “Mr.” from the namesake and worked tirelessly to make the restaurant what it is today: a mega successful franchise the world over. There’s a reason Fatburger is a household name. It’s the burgers, of course, but it’s also Lovie Yancey.

Yancey coined the phrase, “The Last Great Hamburger Stand.”

Fatburger is a part of FAT Brands, inc. in Beverly Hills, California.
