The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs football roster lists many athletes from Dallas area high schools. And fans in Garland are extra proud of the four that attended Garland ISD schools.
TCU freshman wide receiver Jordan Hudson graduated from Garland High School in 2022. He was a four-star recruit who was rated No. 21 receiver in the nation and No. 25 overall player in Texas. Hudson was the No. 146 recruit in the country. He was a part of the 2021-22 team that went undefeated throughout the regular season. He had 195 receptions and collected 3,234 yards and 52 touchdowns as a Garland Owl. In 2020, he was named Texas District 9-6A Offensive Player of the Year. As a sophomore, Hudson was the District 10-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Safety Chace Biddle, another TCU freshman who graduated from Garland High School in 2022, was a four-star recruit who was rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 safety in the nation, the No. 29 overall player in Texas and No. 160 in the country. ESPN ranked him the No. 6 safety in the nation. He was an integral part of the 2021-22 Garland Owl team that was undefeated through the regular season. Biddle collected 100 tackles (seven for a loss) and had five interceptions in his GHS career. As a senior, he had 33 (six for a loss) tackles, three interceptions and three pass breakups.
TCU redshirt freshman offensive lineman Ezra Dotson-Oyetade graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School in 2022. He was a four-star recruit and top-seven center prospect in the nation. 247Sports named him the No. 2 center in the country and No. 271 overall recruit. He was a member of Rivals 250 as No. 3 center and No. 178 recruit in the nation. Dotson-Oyetade was also ranked No 88 in Sports Illustrated magazine’s Postseason Football Prospect Rankings. He was invited to both the All-American Bowl and Polynesian Bowl.
TCU freshman defensive lineman Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode graduated from Rowlett High School in 2022. He was rated No. 23 edge rusher in the nation and No. 49 overall player in Texas by 247Sports. He was a Dallas Morning News Defensive Player of the Week when he scored on a 39-yard interception, had nine tackles (two for a loss with a sack), two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery against North Garland High School. Ibukun-Okeyode was chosen first-team all-district as a junior and honorable-mention all-district as a sophomore. He was also named Rowlett Special Teams Player of the Year in 2019.
On Monday, Jan. 9, TCU will play the Georgia Bulldogs in the national championship game. The Bulldogs are rated No. 1. The Horned Frogs defeated No. 2 ranked Michigan 51-45 to get to the championship game.
