Garland brings home state video awards

The city of Garland brought home 10 trophies from the annual statewide Government Programming Awards. The awards were presented at the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (TATOA) conference in early November.

 

Garland was a finalist in seven categories and received at least one award in each of them.

 

Garland earned first place in four categories:

 

 

The city was awarded second place in four categories as well:

 

 

Takin’ It to the Streets” earned third place in the Interview/Talk Show category. The city also took third place with “Fireworks PSA” in the Public Health/Public Safety category.

 

“I couldn’t be more proud of Nick Gibson and Pedro Hernandez, plus the amazing teamwork from everyone in Public & Media Relations that helped make this happen,” said Video Services Manager Dan Bach.

 

Garland’s Public & Media Relations Department manages and assists with production of the city’s Government Access Cable Channel (CGTV), Garland City Press and other publications, and the city website.
