Garland Gives, a city-wide community service project that was founded by Leadership Garland Class XXXII, has become an annual tradition and LG Class XXXV recently worked with local nonprofits to complete various projects.
Class members selected projects from a list provided by the nonprofits and completed the tasks Saturday, April 30. Projects ranged from simple maintenance to painting, repairing sidewalks and collecting donations.
This year’s sponsors were Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford, Dos Banderas Tex-Mex, the Payton Group, JetPay, Roach Feed & Seed, PlastiPak, Resource One Credit Union, Amegy Bank and the city of Garland.
The following nonprofits received Garland Gives assistance:

The organization provides shelter as well as a number of additional services. Leadership Garland XXXV class members provided career preparation and training.

Get to Know Garland Race
Some of the LG XXXV class members participated in the “Get to Know Garland Race,” which is similar to a scavenger hunt but takes the typical competition to a new level. Participants solve a clue sheet that leads to 12 local destinations. Once there, participants snap pictures to prove they found the answer.
