The Garland Track Club recently competed in the state competition in College Station. The athletes brought home a good number of medals.
Girls – 6 & under
3rd place – 50-meter dash – Kaliah Hobbs with time of 8.96
10 & under girls
2nd place – 4×100-meter relay – team members: Payton Pettway, Ayriel McGhee Khila Royal, Sinijay Maxey, Terrean Williams
1st place – 4×400-meter relay – team members: Ayriel McGhee Khila Royal, Sinijay Maxey, Terrean Williams.
12 & under girls
1st place and 3rd place- 80-meter hurdles – Zyriah Moore took first place with a time of 13.57. Kelcy Horace came in third with a time of 13.90.
3rd place – 4×100-meter relay – team members: Alauna Booker, Zyriah Moore, Kelcy Horace, Ayrianna McGhee, Kennedy Wesley.
1st place – 4×400-meter relay – team members: Alauna Booker, Ayrianna McGhee, Kennedy Wesley, Horace Kelcy.
3rd place – Shot put – Jayleigh Norris. 27-04.
18 & under girls
3rd place – 4×100-meter relay – team members: Kyah Hill, Taneka Ballard, Alexis Griffin, Ida Seesay.
18 & under boys
1st place – 4×100-meter relay – team members: Kamaury Thompson, Nkowi Emory, Camar Wheaton, Garnett Burke
About: Garland Track and Field Club has been in existence for over 50 years. It is still led by it’s founder, Jesse Ramon, a Pillar and Hero in the Garland Community. Our Track Club was born out of Jesse’s Love for the sport and a burning desire to serve the youth of his community. Many of whom have gone on to become professional athletes and productive leaders in their own right all over the world. Garland now has over 10 veteran coaches and administrators who work with all age groups and handle administrative tasks.
