Downtown Garland yoga studio accessible to all

Feb. 6, 2019

Shakti Yoga Center in downtown Garland announces renewed focus on their mission statement and sends out an invitation for all to join them on a spiritual journey toward wellness and self-care. Established in August 2016, this yoga studio has everyone in mind.

Anyone who has ever wanted to begin a practice of yoga knows that it can be stressful to find the right fit in a studio. Those who live in or around Garland are in luck because Patricia Alonso, owner of Shakti Yoga Center, has created an intimate space where everyone is welcome to cultivate healing of body, mind and heart. At Shakti, a team of talented yoga teachers fosters an inclusive and non-judgmental yoga community.

The team has always focused on providing quality traditional yoga instruction to all, but this year has begun with a renewed commitment to their full mission:

To facilitate all levels, all ages and all body types, with friendly, intimate and non-judgmental yoga classes that foster a sense of community with like-minded individuals who want to grow in their personal yoga journey and self-transformation of body, mind and spirit.

No matter where you are on your yoga journey, you’ll fit right in at Shakti. The center offers more than 30 small group classes throughout the week and they range from beginner to advanced levels. All teachers provide enough personal attention to help students adapt each pose for their unique skill level. With ten different styles of traditional yoga on the schedule, it’s easy to find your favorites.

  • To begin or renew a yoga practice, Foundations of Yoga is taught six times a week at various times to fit all schedules.

  • To help you relax and restore mind and body, Restorative Yoga with Nidra is available three times a week.

  • To advance your practice with an early morning start, the Vigorous Fire Vinyasa class is available six days a week.

  • For self-care, Yoga Therapy is available Monday-Friday at 9 a.m. to help manage chronic physical or emotional pain.

  • For strengthening core, Yoga Sculpt, a more physical class, is offered three times a week.

There is something for everyone at Shakti Yoga Center. Attend a class to experience the friendly, intimate and non-judgmental environment. With special pricing for new students at $40.00 for unlimited classes for two weeks, along with a variety of other affordable options, there is nothing to lose but the stress!
