GCT announces season lineup

The Garland Civic Theatre has announced its next season of amazing productions. All GCT shows are held at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland. GCT productions are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

Crimes of the Heart – Sept. 8-24gct

The three Magrath sisters, Meg, Babe and Lenny, reunite at Old Granddaddy’s home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, after Babe shoots her abusive husband.

Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface and each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “crimes of the heart.”

 

Arsenic and Old LaceOct. 20 – Nov. 5

Drama critic Mortimer Brewster’s engagement announcement is upended when he discovers a corpse in his elderly aunts’ window seat. Mortimer rushes to tell Abby and Martha before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women aren’t just aware of the dead man in their parlor, they killed him! Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic black comedy about the only thing more deadly than poison: family.
