GCT continues season with ‘Watson: The Last Great Tale of the Legendary Sherlock Holmes’

Garland Civic Theatre continues its 47th season with a production of “Watson: The Last Great Tale of the Legendary Sherlock Holmes” by Jaime Robledo. The play is based on characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is a mystery, a legend, an enduring friendship. The story of a good man trapped in the shadow of a great man, WATSON is a funny, moving, and theatrically innovative take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s heroes and villains.

The production will run Friday-Sunday, March 6-28 with Thursday performances March 5 and 12 at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland.

There are discounts available for KERA members and groups of 10 or more. Note that Thursday performances are at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday evenings are at 8 p.m. and matinees (Sundays and Saturday, March 28) are at 2:30 p.m.

Joshua Hensley is directing the show and Ryan Matthieu Smith is the costumer. The cast includes: Michael Baker as Dr. John H. Watson; Christopher Dean as Sherlock Holmes; Andrew MacDonald as Professor James Moriarty; Evan Figg as Mycroft Holmes; Samantha Labrada as Irene Adler; Heaven Torres as Mary Morstan Watson; Stephen Bouldin as Sigmund Freud; and Severt Philled as Queen Victoria. Also in the cast, playing various roles are Bart Cowser and Joel Jenkins.
