Garland Civic Theatre has a new home for its business office and rehearsal space at 2703 National Place in Garland. The first activity in this new space is the auditions for Agatha Christie’s “Spider’s Web” Sunday, July 26. Auditions are scheduled every half hour beginning at 3 p.m. The director for the production is GCT’s Artistic Director, Kyle McClaran.
Auditions are by appointment only and can be made by calling 972-485-8884. Bring headshot and resume to appointment. Auditions will include cold readings from the script.
Clarissa, the second wife of Henry Hailsham-Brown, is adept at spinning tales of adventure for their bored diplomatic circle. When a murder takes place in her drawing room, she finds it harder to cope with live drama, especially as she suspects the murderer might be her young stepdaughter, Pippa. Worse still, the victim is the man who broke up Henry’s first marriage. Clarissa’s fast talking places her in some hair-raising experiences as she comes to learn that facts are more terrifying than fiction. “Spider’s Web” is brilliantly woven with thrills and comedy bursting from every dark corner!
All roles are available and open to all ethnicities ages 15-65, plus one 12 year old girl. Rehearsals begin Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m. Performances will be Thursday, Sept. 3 through Saturday, Sept. 26 at Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in Garland. [Note: performances will be Thursday (Sept. 3) night at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday (Sept. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26) nights at 8 p.m. and Sunday (Sept. 6 and 12) matinees at 2:30 p.m.]
