GISD adopts Salvation Army angels

Dec. 23, 2015

For more than 20 years, Garland ISD has helped provide holiday gifts to children through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. This year, campuses and departments throughout the district provided approximately 1,420 gifts to 229 angels, showing GISD’s dedication to the community.

“Without the support of this program, many children may not have gifts to open at Christmas,” said Research, Assessment and Accountability Department Specialist Lori Mangan. “We are proud that our district continues to make a difference in the lives of local children.”

This year’s top supporters were Naaman Forest High School, Hudson Middle School, Dorsey Elementary School and the Research, Assessment and Accountability Department.

An estimated $16,000 was spent on gifts by 26 campuses and 25 departments.
