GISD earns Gold Medallion award

Jul. 30, 2020

Garland ISD is one of just eight school districts across the nation to receive a 2020 Gold Medallion from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

The Gold Medallion is NSPRA’s top program award, recognizing superior education public relations programs, projects and campaigns. GISD is a four-time winner of the highly competitive award and this year received its second consecutive medal—a rare and prestigious feat. Entries come from public and private schools; community or vocational/technical colleges; state and national education groups; and any agency in partnership with any of the mentioned education agencies. The winners were announced this month at the NSPRA National Seminar, which was held virtually due to COVID-19.

In addition to the Gold Medallion Award, GISD also won three Awards of Excellence, four Awards of Merit and a Golden Achievement Award.

Congratulations to the Garland ISD Education Foundation, GRS-TV, Web Services and Communications teams on their achievements.
