GISD high school football: Bi-district playoff round

The first week of this year’s high school football playoffs ended in losses for all of the 10 6A teams. The games were played Friday, Nov. 15.

 

Mustangs lose to Allen HS

 

The Sachse Mustangs were defeated by Allen High School by a score of 55-20 in a Class 6A Division I bi-district game. The Mustangs’ Addison Perez got a 44-yard field goal in the first half and Alex Diaz added a 31-yard field goal in the second half. Quarterback Parker Wells scored on a 9-yard run and later connected with Matthew Herrera on an 18-yard pass for another TD.

Rangers suffer tough loss to McKinney HS

 

The Naaman Forest Rangers lost to McKinney High School in a 13-10 heartbreaker in a Class 6A Division II Region II bi-district game. The Rangers’ kicker Francesco Castillo got NFHS on the board with a 25-yard field goal in the third quarter. Just a couple minutes later, the Rangers scored again on an 8-yard blocked punt return to bring the score to 10-10.

But McKinney got a 24-yard field goal to win the game at the end of the fourth quarter.

 

Patriots defeated by Jesuit HS

The Lakeview Centennial Patriots were defeated by a final score of 45-14 in a Class 6A Division II Region II bi-district contest. The Patriots’ first TD came in the first quarter on a 46-yard pass from QB Jarret Adams to Jalen Davis. Adams also connected with Ed White in the third quarter on a 35-yard TD pass.

 

Jarret put together 129 passing yards on the night and Camar Wheaton collected 104 rushing yards for the Patriots.

 

Wylie HS defeated by Prosper HS

 

Also in 10 6A, the Wylie Pirates lost during the bi-district round to Prosper High School. The final score in this Class 6A Division I contest was Prosper HS 24 – Wylie Pirates 0.
