GISD hiring for various positions

Garland ISD (GISD) is hiring for positions including teachers, alternative certification teachers, instructional aides, bus drivers (additional information below) and more.

To find more information, or if you have questions, be sure to attend the GISD weekly virtual job fair on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m.

Positions available include:

  • Fully certified teachers
  • Alternative Certification teachers with a Statement of Eligibility (SOE)
  • Non-certified Instructor (NCI) candidates who have a bachelor’s degree and are fully enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) or the Teacher Preparation Program (TPP)
  • Bus Drivers
  • Instructional Aides
  • Cafeteria Workers

The job fair will take place every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.  Applicants can meet district recruiters and select campus administrators using the Zoom video conferencing platform.

How to participate:

Register for the Meet and Greet

Fill out the appropriate Google Form to register for the virtual meet and greet.

Join the room using the link

On Tuesdays between 4-6 p.m. use the provided link to join a Meet and Greet room. You will be placed in a waiting room until the session moderator is available to visit with you and answer your questions.

Bus driver positions

If you’d like to get paid while you’re learning how to drive and make a difference in your community, check into driving a bus for GISD.

You do not have to have a commercial driver’s license. Simply join the district’s Fast Track program. Get paid while you’re training and obtain your CDL in as little as five or six weeks.  Get paid $21.21 per hour once you have a CDL.
