The Garland Independent School District is pleased to announce that GISD has been honored as one of the top five Outstanding School Districts in Texas by H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards program.
Since 2002, H-E-B has recognized and supported exceptional public school professionals in Texas through the Excellence in Education Awards, awarding more than $13 million in funding to deserving teachers, principals, school districts, and early childhood facilities.
To be considered for the Outstanding School District award, Garland ISD had to demonstrate exceptional leadership dedicated to student achievement through innovative programs, parent/community involvement, and professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
This honor could not be achieved without the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, administrators, school board, and the communities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse.
Winners will be announced in May 2023.
