GISD students, staff grant holiday wishes

Dec. 14, 2021

Every year, the GISD Research, Assessment & Accountability team organizes a Salvation Army Angel adoption drive. Our charitable students and staff typically adopt 100-plus Angels, but in classic Garland ISD fashion, our team surpassed any of our expectations this season. This year, Team GISD adopted 300 Angels—making holiday wishes come true for hundreds of children in Garland, Rowlett and Sachse.

“After an unprecedented year in 2020, our students and staff showed up again in 2021 to take care of these Angles in a big way,” said District Testing Coordinator Courtney Clearfield. “We adopted all 300 Angels and even had more requests that were not able to be fulfilled due to a time constraint. We look forward to continuing supporting this organization next year and increasing the number of Angels we request to keep up with the demand.”

We are truly honored to have some of the most giving staff in the Metroplex, and we would love to recognize their generous efforts.
