GISD teacher nominated for prestigious award

It’s inspiring that one of our very own teachers in the Garland Independent School District, Patricia Brooks Peoples has shown outstanding contributions to education and the community. She has been nominated for the GAABSE 2024 Golden Apple Award which is a fitting recognition of her dedication and achievements.

The Garland AABSE 2024 Annual Gala will be at the Curtis Culwell Center, located at 4999 Naaman Forest Blvd. in Garland on Saturday, April 20, “A Night Under the Stars” 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

As a tenured teacher in the Garland ISD, her commitment to education is evident. Her role as a Therapeutic Visual Arts teacher at the Garland Alternative Educational Center demonstrates her innovative approach to teaching and her understanding of the diverse needs of students.

Furthermore, founding Brooks Peoples’ Academy and Arts showcases her entrepreneurial spirit and her desire to provide even more opportunities for students to excel in the arts and beyond.

Her involvement in music, business management, and visual arts further highlights her multifaceted talents and her ability to make a positive impact in various fields.

Most importantly, her passion, dedication, and years of service to the community demonstrate her unwavering commitment to making Garland a better place for all.
