The Garland Police Department has arrested 21-year-old Luis Garcia of Arlington for the Feb. 1 murder of 18-year-old Rhamil Reason.
On Feb. 1 just after noon, Garland police officers responded to a deceased male behind a business in the 500 block of West Interstate 30. Officers arrived and began investigating the death as a murder.
Surveillance video led detectives to believe sometime the night before, the deceased was involved in an exchange of gunfire with another person. There were no reports of any other individuals injured during the incident.
Due to the extensive investigation of the homicide detectives, Garcia was identified and arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Office. Garcia is currently in the Garland Detention Center charged with Murder. No bond has been set. The investigation is still ongoing.
