GPD arrests Juan Daniel Yepez for murder

Juan Daniel Yepez, 25, has been arrested for the murder of a man in a shooting that occurred May 21, at approximately 7:45 a.m, Garland police officers responded to the report of a shooting near the intersection of Saturn Road and Kingsley Road and upon their arrival, located a male suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle near a convenience store.

 

The male, later identified as 20-year-old Noah Christopher Hansen.was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

 

GPD detectives learned that Yepez, the victim, and two females were inside a vehicle together. The investigation revealed that there had been an argument involving drugs when Yepez shot the victim with a rifle.

 

Detectives identified Yepez and located him within the 3000 block of Lamesa Drive. The rifle used was also located.

While he was being arrested, he became combative and attempted to take an officer’s gun. He is currently in the Garland Detention Center on the charge of Murder, as well as Attempting to Take Weapon from a Police Officer.

 

No bond has been set.
