GPD investigates murder, asks for community’s help

Feb. 1, 2019

Jan. 30 at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot wound at an apartment community in the 2800 block of Dairy Road. When GPD officers arrived, they located a male subject, later identified as 29-year-old Clifford Wayne Wicker, Jr., unconscious in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Garland paramedics responded and the male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded to investigate.  It is believed that the victim was in his apartment when he was made aware that someone was breaking into his work truck.  When he went to investigate, he was shot.
