April 21, just after 10 p.m., Garland Police Department officers responded to a gunshot disturbance at a residence in the 5300 block of Sarasota Drive. When they arrived on the scene, they found a male subject, later identified as 33-year-old James Crossnoe, deceased inside his residence with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Homicide detectives arrived to investigate. The investigation led detectives to believe an altercation occurred between Crossnoe and another male subject identified as 37-year-old John Gleason of Mesquite. During the altercation Crossnoe was shot and died from the wound.
Gleason was arrested and is currently in the Garland Detention Center on a charge of murder. No bond has been set.
The investigation is ongoing.
