GPD detective to enter National LEO Officer Hall of Fame

The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) has announced its inductees into the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame. And, Garland PD’s Detective Tony Godwin is on the list. He will receive the Career Achievement Award.

According to the TMPA, the judges received numerous nominations that detailed “outstanding performances by law enforcement professionals.”

Godwin has served as an Internet Crimes Against Children investigator for many years. In addition, he is one of the hosts of the Catfish Cops podcast. Godwin is also a nationally recognized expert about Internet Crimes Against Children.

The induction ceremony is March 30.

The Hall of Fame judge’s panel looks for stories that show how the officer has gone out of their way to make a difference in their job and community. Anyone nominated for induction into the hall of fame can be an active, retired or deceased law enforcement officer.
