Update: Shooting investigation – March 17 – The Garland Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Kadarrion Kanard Scott of Mesquite as a result of the murder investigation that began on March 17.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating him. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Scott, they are encouraged to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.
Tips may also be submitted anonymously to Garland Crime Stoppers at www.garlandcrimestoppers.org or 972-272-8477 (TIPS).
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to Scott’s arrest.
This is still an active and ongoing investigation.
Shooting Investigation (Released 3-17-2024)
On March 17, 2024, just after 2 am, Garland police officers were called to a residence in the 4900 block of Captains Place in response to a shooting.
The Garland Police Department and Garland Fire Department arrived on the scene and found one individual who had been shot by an unknown suspect. Unfortunately, the victim later succumbed to their injuries after being transported to an area hospital.
Officers learned that a disturbance occurred at a party which led to the shooting.
The victim is identified as 20-year-old Drevon Bowman of Dallas.
Garland detectives are investigating the matter and working to determine the cause of the shooting and identify the person(s) responsible.
