April 24, shortly after 8:50 p.m., the Garland Police Department received a gunshot wound call advising that someone had been shot at the Richland Apartments located in the 3200 block of Buckingham Road.
Responding police officers contacted the caller which led them to the apartment bedroom, where they observed an unconscious male lying on the floor.
The Garland Fire Department responded and transported the victim to Medical Center of Plano where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Larry Donnell Smith, Jr. of Garland.
This is an ongoing investigation and GPD detectives are interviewing possible witnesses to determine what lead to the shooting death of Smith.
