Update: Victim identified in ongoing shooting investigation
The Garland Police Department has identified the victim in the Sept. 3 shooting as 20-year-old Aydeion Garza, a resident of Garland.
The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
Tuesday, Sept. 3, just before 6 a.m., Garland Police Department officers responded to the report of a gunshot wound in the area of Glenfield Drive and Cumberland Drive. When GPD officers arrived, they found an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives are investigating and working to determine what led to the shooting.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the victim has not been identified.
