GPD investigates deceased male found in flipped car

Wednesday, Nov. 17, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Garland Police Department (GPD) and Garland Fire Department (GFD) responded to a vehicle crash in the 1100 block of Rosewood Hills Drive. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics observed a white Nissan Altima that had flipped over, and an unconscious person was inside.

When the driver was removed from the vehicle, officers and paramedics observed that he had been shot.  The victim, an adult male, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the man’s death as a murder.

This is an active investigation. GPD detectives are asking that anyone who has information regarding this shooting to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.

The victim’s identity is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
