The Garland Police Department has filed murder charges on two Dallas juveniles for a murder that occurred on Feb. 5.
On March 1, Garland Police Department detectives filed charges on a 14-year-old juvenile from Dallas for the murder that took the life of Quincy Lee Branch of Dallas. The juvenile was already in custody on an unrelated charge when the murder charge was added.
The second juvenile, a 15-year-old from Dallas, is also in custody and charged with murder for their alleged participation in the homicide.
Both are currently being held in the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center. This is an active investigation. No photos of the juveniles will be released.
Sunday, Feb. 5, just before 12:30 a.m., the Garland Police Department and Fire Department responded to the area of 4600 Saturn Road. They were responding to a report of a vehicle that had struck an apartment building and was on fire. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders began evacuating the nearby apartments as the fire spread to the apartment building.
During the incident, first responders discovered that there were two individuals inside the vehicle that struck the apartments. Both had injuries from gunfire and were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. One victim, identified as 22-year-old Quincy Lee Branch of Dallas, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other victim, a 19-year-old male from Fort Worth, is being treated for his non-life-threatening injury and is expected to survive.
The incident is being investigated as a murder. The Garland Police Department is requesting that anyone who has information about this incident contact GPD at 972-485-4840.
