GPD investigates male’s death as murder

Update:

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Son Kim Nguyen from the Austin area. The investigation remains ongoing.


Tuesday, October 1, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report of an unconscious male in an apartment community located in the 300 block of East I-30. Officers observed a male inside a parked vehicle suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Garland Fire Department paramedics responded and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives are investigating the victim’s death as a murder. The investigation is early, but investigators believe the vehicle has been at the location since late last night. The death is being investigated as a murder.

 

At this time a suspect has not been identified, so detectives are asking for the public’s assistance.

 

GPD detectives are working with the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the victim as well as the cause of the death.
