Saturday, March 17, shortly after 11 a.m., the Garland Police Department received a gunshot wound call advising that someone had been shot at the Meadow Creek Apartments located in the 500 block of Tacoma Drive. Responding GPD officers observed an unconscious male lying at the bottom of the stairway between two apartment buildings. It appeared that the male had been shot multiple times. The Garland Fire Department responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
GPD issued a warrant for Murder for the arrest of Jaquan DeShawn Marray Griggs Saturday, March 17, and he subsequently turned himself in and was arrested. Griggs is charged with the murder of Quintarvius Amos. He is currently held in the Garland Detention Center. Bond is set at $1,000,000.
