The Garland Police Department is investigating a fight that happened Tuesday, May 24 at North Garland High School. The fight involved a North Garland HS student and a Garland Police Department SRO.
Garland PD circulated a statement saying that it was aware of a recent video posted online involving the SRO and a student. The video shows the end of an incident that involved multiple large fights and assaults at the school. The fights were happening at the same time in the school hallway. Ten students that were involved in the fight were sent home. The school is conducting an investigation regarding additional students who might have been involved.
According to the statement from the Garland Police Department, an internal investigation is also being opened to ensure that police officers acted appropriately.
