Update: 16-Year-old from Jan. 14 shooting in custody
Jan. 25, just after 7 pm, Garland Police Department Investigators were notified that the 16-year-old involved in the shooting incident on January 14 was taken into custody in Laredo, TX. This investigation is ongoing.
Update: GPD searches for suspect
After a lengthy investigation, detectives have issued a Directive to Apprehend warrant for a juvenile subject believed to be involved in the shooting that claimed the lives of two victims on Jan. 14.
The Garland Police Department is actively seeking 16-year-old Amancio Anton Noriz, a resident of Dallas, who is the subject of the Directive to Apprehend warrant. It is not customary for the GPD to disclose information regarding minors. However, the court has granted permission to release information in light of the severity of the offense.
The GPD is appealing to the public to report any information they have on his whereabouts immediately by calling 911. Amancio is described as a Hispanic male with dark hair, brown eyes, approximately 4’ 9” in height, and weighing around 120 pounds. Photo above.

Update: GPD investigates shooting fatalities
The victims from the Sunday, Jan.14 shooting have been identified as 18-year-old Alan Jesus Chavez and 17-year-old Ruben Santibanez Arzola. Both are residents of Wylie.
This is an ongoing investigation. Based on preliminary findings, detectives believe the victims and suspect may have known one another.
The Garland Police Department has asked for the public’s assistance. If anyone has information regarding this investigation, they are encouraged to call GPD at 972-485-4840 or 9-1-1.

On Jan. 14, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Garland Police Department (GPD) officers were called to the 2300 block of West Buckingham Road in response to a shooting.
When the GPD and Garland Fire Department arrived on the scene, they found two individuals who had been shot by an unknown suspect. Both victims later succumbed to their injuries.
GPD officers learned that the perpetrator fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.
Currently, Garland PD detectives are investigating the matter and working to ascertain the facts behind the shooting.
As this is a continuing investigation, further details will be forthcoming.
