Following is an update to the original social media post from Wednesday, June 7: Wednesday, June 14, the Garland Police Department (GPD) received a detailed lab analysis of previously acquired items sold at the bee Hippy Hemp Dispensary. The store is located at 701 Main Street. The police department has learned that some of the products were sold to patrons with the misinformation that these items were “legal” hemp products (containing less than 0.3% THC). The test results were alarming. Therefore, GPD felt an immediate need to create this announcement for the safety of our community.
Test results from some of the products sold inside the location show high levels of THC. Some products tested as high as 95.3% THC. The police department is concerned that patrons of bee Hippy Hemp Dispensary may unknowingly ingest or possess high or dangerous levels of THC. This is especially true for minor children and for those who are unprepared for the side effects of acute intoxication.
Over 200 pounds of items containing an illegal level of THC, including prepackaged products, were confiscated by law enforcement officials during this investigation. If you have purchased any ingestible product from bee Hippy Hemp Dispensary, we recommend you immediately and safely dispose of the product.
Members of the public are welcome to anonymously drop off the product in our secure “Prescription Drop Off” bin. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. The bin is located in the GPD lobby at 1891 Forest Lane; .
The GPD lobby is open Monday thru Friday, 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, we are open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
