Grand Homes hosted a dedication ceremony Thursday, May 26, at 342 Gleneagles in Garland to celebrate their ninth Home for HOPE. They are also thrilled to also announce that its ninth Home for HOPE has been purchased.
“We feel honored and proud to have sold this gorgeous home to a wonderful person!” said Donna Forsyth, who sold the home that provided funds to HOPE International’s microfinance program. The program is dedicated to alleviating world poverty by contributing financial services for impoverished families.
The charity home was built by Grand Homes as part of their Country Club Estates neighborhood. Grand Homes along with their trade partners, constructed this home with the goal of donating the proceeds from the sale of the home to Homes for HOPE. The nonprofit, together with HOPE International, provides financial resources and support to help alleviate physical and spiritual poverty in over 18 developing.
“It’s revolutionary – we can use our skills as builders and tradesmen to help empower thousands of people around the world,” said Stephen Brooks, CEO of Grand Homes. “During these challenging times, it is more important than ever to assist people in need. HOPE Ukraine is still serving over 500 farmers and business owners that are affected by the violence and losses of the war.”
Founded in 1999, Homes for HOPE works within the home building industry, forming partnerships with builders and their trade partners to create revenue-generating projects – “Homes for HOPE” – which provide financial support for HOPE International’s microeconomic development programs across the globe.
To date, homebuilders and trade partners around the country have completed 125 homes, raising over $21 million in charitable contributions. With their assistance, HOPE has been able to offer an estimated million loans aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty for aspiring entrepreneurs in over 18 countries around the world.
Brooks, a recipient of the Dallas Builders Association’s Hugh Prather Humanitarian Award, believes in the idea of giving back. “Grand Homes has always supported, and will continue to support, many local charities to benefit the communities in which we build; Homes for HOPE allows us to have an impact beyond our own community to help eliminate poverty in areas of need throughout the world,” said Mr. Brooks.
