GSM announces 2021 season

Mar. 2, 2021

Garland Summer Musicals (GSM) has announced its two productions for 2021 and you won’t want to miss either one! GREASE is the first production and runs June 11-20. 9 to 5 is the second and will run July 16-25. Performances are at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland.

GREASE is a lively and funny musical that has remained one of the world’s most popular and enduring musicals. Funny, frank and featuring the hit songs “Greased Lightnin’,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re the One That I Want” and “Summer Nights.” The story follows the journey of Danny and Sandy, alongside the Burger Palace Boys and Pink Ladies, as they navigate high school to the unforgettable rock ‘n roll soundtrack that defined generations.

Performances will be June 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. June 13 and 20 at 2:30 p.m.gsm

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, is based on the 1980 movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. A high-energy show, jubilant score and easily relatable characters, 9 to 5 is the perfect show!

Performances will be July 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 8 p.m. and July 18 and 25 at 2:30 p.m.

Season tickets are available now at the box office – 972-205-2790. Individual tickets go on sale to the general public May 10. They will be on sale at the arts center box office at https://www.garlandartsboxoffice.org.
