Herman Marshall Whiskey, the first distillery in Dallas County since prohibition, is launching a new look as it resumes distribution. The classic Herman Marshall offerings will debut a rebranded bottle and label as it returns to liquor stores, restaurants and bars throughout Texas.
Established in 2010, Herman Marshall is the first distillery of handcrafted small-batch whiskey in the metroplex. The brand was acquired by Dry County Distilleries last fall and will begin distribution for the first time under new ownership. Dry County Distilleries is made up of partners Clint Ecord and Ryan Hamar as well as HM founder and original master distiller, Herman Beckley, who serves as a distilling consultant. The relaunch features Herman Marshall’s classic lineup of small-batch selections of Texas Bourbon Whiskey, Texas Rye Whiskey and Texas Single Malt Whiskey along with the debut of Dry County Blended Bourbon Whiskey.
“Herman Marshall Whiskey has a strong and devoted following throughout Texas as a pioneer of local craft whiskey,” said Dry County Distilleries CEO Ryan Hamar. “We’re thrilled to launch this updated image as we return to stores and establishments for the first time as an ownership group and introduce this historic Texas whiskey to a new generation. Our whiskey is built from the grain up right here in Texas and this bold new look honors those roots. We are excited for this new era for Herman Marshall.”
While the Herman Marshall branding and labels have been revamped, Dry County Distilleries continues to utilize its classic small batch production process – sourcing the best grains possible, fermenting mash in open-top cypress tanks, distilling in traditional copper pots, and aging spirits for at least four years in charred 53-gallon American white oak barrels.
Dry County Distilleries has plans to further increase production and selection. Distillery operations will move from their current location in Garland to Wylie later this year. The new location in Downtown Wylie will create a more robust HM experience for visitors by offering larger tastings, tours, events, tournaments and other activities on-site.
