HFHGG to host dedication celebration

May. 5, 2022

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland will dedicate three new homes Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m. at 1102 Clinton Street in Garland. Habitat welcomes all to join the celebration and ceremony which will include attendance by Mayor Scott LeMay, City Council members and city dignitaries from Housing and Community Services.

Everyone is invited to join the festivities at the home dedication ceremony. There will be music, free food and soft drinks and a lot of celebration to start off the weekend with a smile!

Habitat purchased the corner of Clinton and Newman in 2021. The property was the Newman homestead, for which the neighborhood and street are named. The three homes are being sold through Habitat’s Homeownership program which requires the new homeowners to pay an affordable mortgage and invest hundreds of ‘sweat equity’ hours into the process.

Habitat Greater Garland is grateful to partner with Fidelity National Title, Inwood Bank and Town Square Mortgage as third party mortgage lenders. Garland Housing and Community services, Blue Nail Roofing, Anderson Corporation and Lowes have all been contributing partners with Habitat in the construction.
