Hope Clinic of Garland celebrates 23rd anniversary

Sep. 16, 2024

Hope Clinic is celebrating 23 years of being the only nonprofit medical facility providing completely free healthcare for the uninsured and underserved community.

Go by the clinic Thursday, Sept. 19, North Texas Giving Day and donate $23 to help them celebrate their 23rd anniversary!

There will be clinic tours from 8 a.m. – noon, and you’ll have an opportunity to meet the dedicated staff, providers, volunteers and board members. Enjoy some birthday cake and take a selfie for our social media.

Your donation will provide one Uber Health ride, ensuring our patients can get to their essential medical appointments. All donations made between now and Sept. 19 will be matched 100%. That means your donation can be stretched to provide not one, but two Uber Health rides for patients in need!  Uber Health can also arrange deliveries of groceries, medications and other essentials.

$1 to $1 match up to $6,900!

Here is what the community has helped the clinic achieve over the past 23 years:

Provided over 56,000 patient visits.

Hope Clinic continues to provide wraparound services and building impact in the following comprehensive programming:

Primary and Urgent Care

Chronic Health Management and Education

Case Management

The facility serves the community five days per week, with access to on-call physicians 24/7 and conveniently located near public transportation, which makes it easily accessible.

Hope Clinic ranks among the top 5% of clinics for ease of scheduling and customer service as measured by the national Press Ganey scale.

What began as a small group of volunteers from First Baptist Church of Garland; in a one-room operation located at the Garland Salvation Army building has evolved into a valuable partner in the community.

Hope Clinic of Garland, Inc. began in 2002 as a ministry of First Baptist Garland when two church members recognized the need to provide primary healthcare to indigent and uninsured residents in Garland one night a week. Over the years the need for primary healthcare in the community increased, and in 2007 the clinic moved to a larger facility and acquired its 501 (C) (3) non-profit status. In 2009, Hope Clinic became a partner with Baylor Scott-White Health system, and Hope Clinic remains a safety net clinic for BSW patients. Medical partnerships have grown to include the Health Texas Partner Network, Parkland Health/Dallas Hospital District, as well as numerous specialty practices to aid diagnoses of our patients.
