The Celebration of Hope event serves as an annual fundraiser for Hope Clinic, a facility that provides health care and resources to the underserved Dallas County population. The clinic is located at 800 South Sixth Street, Suite 100 in Garland.
A holistic approach is used to treat patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual health. The clinic partners with the Garland community to share the love of Jesus Christ.
According to the clinic’s website, it began in 2002 as a ministry of First Baptist Garland when two church members recognized the need to provide primary health care to indigent and uninsured residents in Garland one night a week.
Over time, the need increased, and the facility moved to a larger space and received 501 (C) (3) status in 2007. In 2009, Hope Clinic began to partner with Baylor Scott-White Health system, and it continues to be a safety net clinic for BSW patients. Medical partnerships now include the HealthTexas Partner Network, Parkland Health/Dallas Hospital District, as well as numerous specialty practices.
The clinic occupies a 5400 sq. ft. building in a residential area near downtown Garland. Hope Clinic of Garland, Inc. has grown to a full-scale operation facilitating approximately 8,000 patient visits each year.
