Hope Clinic welcomed Garland Police Department’s Chief Jeff Bryan, command staff, assistant chiefs and captains to the clinic Tuesday, Feb. 20. The purpose of their visit was to learn more about what the clinic does, as well as its vision and goals.
The clinic, which opened in 2002, provides medical care and health resources to the underserved in Dallas County. Their approach includes more than medical care alone. The clinic follows a holistic approach that includes physical, emotional and spiritual health.
For those in need of food and/or shelter, Hope Clinic of Garland works with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. They can connect patients with that agency for help with additional services.
The 5,400 square foot clinic houses five exam rooms, a triage area, laboratory, spiritual care room, doctor’s office and health education room. It is located at 800 South Sixth Street, Suite 100 in Garland.
Their core values include spirituality, love, integrity, quality, empathy, influence.
Their purpose is: To reflect Christ’s love by providing healthcare, spiritual support and community resources.
The clinic is led by Medical Director Jennifer Kampas. It also includes a team of day and night physicians, medical assistants, nurses, clincal support and medical partners. All put the “patients fist,” by providing primary care, urgent care, chronic health management, medication assistance, specialist referrals, spiritual counseling and access to community resources.
For over a decade, Hope Clinic has provided 55,450 patient visits to an unduplicated total of 5,784 individuals.
The clinic’s community partners include Health Texas Provider Network, Baylor Scott White Health, Parkland, city of Garland, St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy, Trusted World and Catholic Charities Dallas.
Hope Clinic’s Executive Director, Tanya Downing, expressed gratitude to the Garland Police Department. She thanked them for the work they do in the community and for keeping everyone at Hope Clinic safe.
