How to help with storm clean up effort

Dallas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster has been assisting the city of Garland, city of Rowlett and Dallas County with a Multi-Agency Resource Center, Volunteer Reception Center and a Donations Center.

Local nonprofit organizations are ready to assist residents affected by the Dec. 26, 2015 tornado.  VOAD organizations present at the Resource Center are offering a multitude of services:

  • Debris Removal
  • Assistance in Placing Tarps on Roofs
  • Sorting Personal Belongings
  • Packing Assistance
  • Chain Saw Work
  • Heavy Equipment for Debris (Skid Steer)

 

The VOAD organizations will remain active in the relief effort as long as they are needed.

The Joint Disaster Management Resource Center is located at Granger Recreation Center, 1301 W. Avenue F. Garland, Texas 75040 and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Volunteers may also sign up for tornado clean-up assistance by calling the Crisis Cleanup hotline at 800-451-1954 for free help from the VOAD organizations.
