HS football bi-district playoff round

Garland ISD’s four playoff football teams were defeated in the bi-district round, Thursday, Nov. 11, and Friday, Nov. 12.

Rockwall HS 55 – North Garland HS 14playoff

The North Garland Raiders were defeated by Rockwall High School Thursday, Nov. 11, in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Raiders’ quarterback Godspower Nwawuihe passed for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah DeLeon collected five catches for 92 yards and a TD. De’Corals Taylor had two catches for 67 yards and a score. Jaden Dais collected 127 rushing yards on 18 carries.

Mesquite HS 42 – Sachse H 19

The Sachse Mustangs lost to Mesquite High School Friday, Nov. 12, in the bi-district playoff round. SHS quarterback Alex Orji passed for 68 yards and a touchdown and collected 130 yards on 24 carries and two scores. Cam Gladney caught Orji’s TD pass.

Tyler Legacy HS 41 – Garland HS 40playoff

The Garland Owls lost in the bi-district round to Tyler Legacy High School Friday, Nov. 12. The Owls put together 578 total yards – 395 yards in the air and 183 yards on the ground. Owls’ quarterback Cergio Perez threw for five TDs. Ellis Rogers caught three of the TD throws and had eight total catches for 236 yards on the night. Jordan Hudson also caught a TD pass and put together seven catches for 121 yards. Charles Allen also caught a TD pass. Keyunte King scored for the Owls on a 5-yard run.

A big congratulations to the Owls on an undefeated regular season.

Rockwall Heath HS 35 – Naaman Forest HS 6

The Naaman Forest Rangers were defeated by Rockwall Heath HS in the bi-district round Friday, Nov. 12.  NFHS quarterback Tray Walton threw for 73 yards on the game with one TD. Hayden caught the touchdown pass. The defense picked up three interceptions from the Rockwall Heath quarterback.
